"Once a Goldpanner, ALWAYS a Goldpanner!"
Panner not listed? todd @ pannervault.com.

Over the 49 year history of the professional baseball draft, no other team has seen more of their players chosen than the Goldpanners.  There have been a record 1,164 player selections devoted to Goldpanners through 2013 -- including Rick Monday, the very first player ever chosen by a MLB franchise in the history of the amateur draft.

Among those 1,164 picks, 125 Goldpanners have been chosen in the draft's first round.    Of the 125 first round selections, 19 were either the very first or second pick of the entire draft.  Over 200 have reached the pinnacle of the professional ranks in Major League Baseball. This, too, is a record among all amateur baseball teams.  As impressive as that number may be, there could have been many more -- as nearly 70 Goldpanners stalled heartbreakingly close to MLB at the Triple-A level.

And there could have been many more still!  Many players were drafted prior to their first official appearance with the Goldpanners. As signing bonuses have increased, so have the number of key players lost to the draft.   Some of these players were Darryl Strawberry (80), Roger Clemens (83), Joe Carter (81), and David Clyde (73).  Goldpanners in the MLB draft
