Larry Corrigan, Special Assistant to the General Manager

Larry Corrigan joined General Manager Neal Huntington's staff on November 12, 2007.

Prior to joining the Pirates, Corrigan spent 20 years as a member of the Minnesota Twins Baseball Operations Department. His most recent role with the Twins came as a Special Assistant to General Manager Terry Ryan from 1999-2007, where he was a key member of a front office staff that helped the club capture four division titles. In his last two seasons with the Twins, his scouting emphasis and evaluations focused exclusively on National League teams; he spent the previous four years (2002-05) with an emphasis on the American League clubs.

Corrigan began his association with Minnesota in 1987 as the West Coast Scouting Supervisor after working as an area scout in Southern California for Oakland. He was then promoted to Director of Scouting from 1992-93, where the club tabbed outfielder Torii Hunter as its first round pick in the 1993 draft. Larry also served the Twins as the club’s Minor League Field Coordinator for five years from 1994-1998.

Originally selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the fourth round of the regular phase of the 1972 June draft, Corrigan played in the Dodgers and Twins minor league systems from 1972-1978. Following his playing career he coached at both Iowa State University and Cal State-Fullerton.
