Prior to coming to Tacoma Bernard was pitching coach with San Antonio in 2005...spent 2004 as pitching coach for Inland Empire...spent 2003 as Minor League Pitching Coordinator for the Milwaukee Brewers... coached in the Brewers organization from 1998-2002...coached in the Alaskan Summer league in 1997...Minor League Pitching Coordinator for the Minnesota Twins from 1990- 1996...coach in the Twins organization from 1987-89...began coaching in 1986 in the Pittsburgh organization.

PLAYING EXPERIENCE:
Bernard was drafted by the New York Mets in the 2nd round in 1974...spent most of his career pitching in the minor leagues for New York (1974-79), Milwaukee (1980- 82), Houston (1983-84) and Baltimore (1985)...pitched in the Major Leagues with New York (1978-78) and Milwaukee (1981-82), pitching in the postseason both years with the Brewers.
