Acker, a left-handed pitcher and outfielder from Redmond High, played at Columbia Basin for Steve Farrington. He was voted the Most Valuable Player of the NWAACC and also earned ABCA All-America after hitting .380 with 35 runs batted in. He was also 5-1 with a 1.49 earned run average and 43 strikeouts in 54 innings.
"Mac proved in the NWAACC that he is a legitimate two-way guy," Meggs said in a news release. "While I like his swing and I'm impressed with his stuff, I love his attitude. This guy competes every day, one pitch at a time, for nine innings. And Mac's a late bloomer, so he will only get better."
